FAQs — Ali's Autos

Question 1

How do I book my car in?

Accepted Answer

You can book online using our booking form — just choose your service, pick a date, and give us your vehicle details. Alternatively, call us on 07447 909927 and we'll sort it over the phone.

Question 2

How quickly can you fit me in?

Accepted Answer

We aim to offer same-day or next-day appointments for most jobs, subject to availability. For urgent issues — especially anything safety-related like brakes or steering — call us directly and we'll do our best to get you in as soon as possible.

Question 3

Do I need to book in advance?

Accepted Answer

For most work, yes — booking ahead means we can set aside the right time and parts for your job. Walk-ins are welcome for quick checks and advice, but we can't always guarantee a slot on the day.

Question 4

What information do I need when booking?

Accepted Answer

It helps to have your vehicle registration, make, model, and year to hand, along with a description of the problem or the service you need. The more detail you can give us, the better prepared we'll be.

Question 5

What makes and models do you work on?

Accepted Answer

We work on all makes and models — from everyday hatchbacks like Fords, Vauxhalls, and Volkswagens to BMWs, Audis, Toyotas, and light vans. If you're unsure whether we can help with your vehicle, just give us a call.

Question 6

Do you cover bodywork or accident damage?

Accepted Answer

No — we specialise in mechanical and electrical repairs. We don't carry out bodywork, paint, or accident repair. If you need that kind of work, we're happy to point you in the right direction.

Question 7

What area do you cover?

Accepted Answer

Our garage is based in Burgess Hill, and we see customers from across West Sussex — including Haywards Heath, Hassocks, Hurstpierpoint, Crawley, Horsham, Brighton, and beyond. If you can get to us, we can help.

Question 8

Can you carry out manufacturer-schedule servicing without voiding my warranty?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Under UK block exemption regulations, you don't have to use a main dealer for servicing to keep your manufacturer warranty valid. We follow the manufacturer's service schedule, use quality parts, and stamp your service book.

Question 9

How much will my repair cost?

Accepted Answer

Every job is different, so we always give you a clear quote before starting any work. There are no hidden charges — the price we quote is the price you pay, unless we find something unexpected and discuss it with you first.

Question 10

Do you charge for diagnostic checks?

Accepted Answer

We charge a small fee for a full diagnostic scan, which is deducted from the cost of any repair work carried out. If you're not sure what's wrong, a diagnostic is the quickest way to find out.

Question 11

Will you recommend work I don't actually need?

Accepted Answer

No. We only recommend work that genuinely needs doing. If something can safely wait, we'll tell you — and we'll explain why, so you can make an informed decision. Our reputation is built on trust, not upselling.

Question 12

What parts do you use?

Accepted Answer

We use quality parts that meet or exceed manufacturer specifications. We don't cut corners on parts — cheap parts often fail sooner and can cause further damage, which costs more in the long run.

Question 13

Do your repairs come with a warranty?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All our repair work comes with a warranty on both parts and labour. If something we've fixed develops a fault related to our work, bring it back and we'll sort it out.

Question 14

Can I supply my own parts?

Accepted Answer

In some cases, yes — but we'd recommend discussing this with us first. We can only warranty the labour on customer-supplied parts, not the parts themselves. If a supplied part fails, you may still incur labour costs for the repair.

Question 15

Where are you located?

Accepted Answer

We're at Unit 2, 48 Junction Road, Burgess Hill, West Sussex, RH15 0JN. There's parking on site.

Question 16

What are your opening hours?

Accepted Answer

We're open Monday to Friday 8:00am–6:00pm and Saturday 8:00am–1:00pm. We're closed on Sundays.

Question 17

Is there parking at the garage?

Accepted Answer

Yes, there's parking available on site when you drop your car off.
